Formal examinations are the only effective way to assess a student's performance. Continual assessment such as course work and projects is not a satisfactory way to do this. Do you agree or disagree?

The only way to best evaluate the performance of a student is by conducting official examinations. Ongoing assessment like course work and projects is not good enough. I strongly disagree with this opinion, and the essay below will explain in details why I take this stance.

The government's investment in arts, music and theatre is a waste of money. Governments should invest these funds in public services instead. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

It is often argued that the government should finance public services instead of spending its budget on arts, music and theatre. Although I agree that the administration’s investments in public services play a very important role, I think that proper funding of the arts sector is also crucial for the society.

Findings show that many criminals have low level of education. Some people believe that the best way to reduce crime is to educate criminals in prisons so that they can get job. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Researches have shown that many criminals have little education. Hence, it is believed by some people that the education of criminals in prison would help to reduce crime and they can be gainfully employed. I disagree with this notion as criminals are often influenced negatively in prison, while the stigmatization of criminals, prevent them from working and they return to crime.

There are various factors that can influence the growth of a child. Although, some people believe that digital media, peers and music can impact the growth of a child. Whereas, I believe that parents influence the development of a child to a much greater extent.

There are various economic problems that need attention. Although, some individuals think that the increase in a number of vehicles is a major concern. However, I believe that, there are bigger issues such rise in the industrial pollution, which needs more attention.

In my opinion, the society which has enough sports facilities is positive for public health, but increasing healthy behaviours of people are more important.

Whether admission should be charged or not, advantages and disadvantages can be identified. This essay will discuss these items in an effort to prove one group better than the other.
