It is thought by some that being unable to speak the local

could be true in the past, nowadays new immigrants can overcome these issues thanks to modern technology

with, due to the internet, socializing in a country

is not a problem anymore. Much of social media is equipped with translators, meaning that newcomers can establish friendships or romantic partners
