Today, 20 years have passed since the time I was
acquainted with one of those giant beige computers and kept spending my summer days cooped up with it in my room. Funnily enough, I still am sitting behind one, with multiple tabs open, simultaneously writing and listening to Brahms while my cat is strutting about. Not to deviate from the point of
letter, my academic journey started at the age of eighteen when I got accepted into a bachelor's programme in Information Technology at Tabriz University in Iran and through a natural process of trial and error for an undergraduate, I
got interested in some of my courses including E-commerce, Compilers and more especially, Machine vision during the
year of the programme and thankfully, managed to stay interested in my major and not to give in to the temptation of pursuing art as an academic major.
, getting regularly caffeinated and pepped up following enthusiastic YouTube videos, I started training myself in coding in MATLAB and gaining a certain grounding in Machine learning and Artificial Neural Networks which
resulted in presenting an ANN-dominated degree project much to my supervisor’s delight and acquiring a fairly good final score. Afterwards, due to my continued attendance at many local technology events during the summer prior to my graduation, I received an attractive internship position in a leading Iranian electronic payment services company named Parsian e-commerce (Pecco) and completed it both to satisfaction of the organization and my supervisor. During my time there, I was entrusted with colossal datasets containing sensitive personally identifiable payment information of individual customers and businesses and asked to register new entries, and process and categorise the data.
