Overall, oil was the most consumed item around the globe, while coal was the most used item for electricity production.Other sources experienced slight increases over the course of a period. In world energy consumption, oil was mostly consumed(34.3), followed by coal(25.1) and gas(20.9). The rest of the sources like nuclear, hydro and renewable wastes were utilized in very minute amounts.
