The graph shows the amount of money spennt on books in Germany , France , Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005.
This
graph illustrates the expense of book purchases in
million
dollars in four different European countries from 1995 till 2005.
Overall
, there has been an increase in money spent on books in all these countries and Germany remained the leading country for buying books throughout
this
period. It is interesting to note that, in 1995, the amount used for literature was highest in Germany at 80
million
dollars
whereas
it was lowest in Austria at just 30
million
.
However
, these figures were roughly the same for France and Italy at above 50
million
.The expenses rose in Germany to reach 90
million
in 1999 followed by a slight steady drop of 5
million
till 2003 only to start rising again to cross 90
million
in 2005.
On the other hand
, the maximum increase in expenditure on literary material was seen in Austria which showed a gradual incline to 40
million
till 1999 and
then
after remaining stable at
this
value for two years, it showed a dramatic rise to reach a value of above 70
million
in 2005.France and Italy,
on the contrary
, had a very slight change in their expense in 2005 with the figures reaching above 70
million
and 60
million
for France and Italy respectively.
