One major benefit of the nuclear family is the angle of economic and financial independence. This is seen as the major factor that propels people world all over to opt for the nuclear family as it brings about personal achievement and responsive parenting on the part of the parents. For example, a family with a small size can afford to send their offspring to a high-profiled school in terms of academic achievement and also cater for the needs of their progeny. On the other hand, a major challenge is that children from small family often times findd it difficult to deal with interpersonal issues as they may be timid and they may have to deal with issues ranging from laziness to other despicable acts. For example, a child from a small family may find domestic chores difficult due to the fact that everything is being done for them. All children misbehave and every parent face the challenge of how to discipline his or her child. Owing to this ,it has been suggested that physical purnishment is the ultimate way of correcting children. While this may be adopted,I totally disagree with this view point. To begin with, corporal purnishment have been attributed to low self esteem in children. This is because they live in fear of being spanked at every slight mistake and assume they are not good enough and this translate to their relationship with their equals in he society. Secondly, children who suffer beating grow up and see it as a way of life. Thus they become violent and turn to crime in later life. For example my cousin was rude in his formative years , his mother always flood him, today he is a notorious criminal wanted by the police. Finally, hitting child can result to physical injury. This is because in attempt to correct a child ,most parents are in their angry mood and can lay their hands on anything without minding if this could injure the child or even lead to death. However, smacking a children may instill fear in them and they may become wary of committing a future havoc and can totally desist from bad behaviour. This however is a small group In conclusion , while people may vary in their opinion, I completely disagree that corporal purnishment should the best way to train a child to be morally upright. I rather suggest positive reinforcement , withdrawal of privileges and time out for advice as effective measures
