Topic: The graph shows the average carbon emissions per person in four countries between 1967 and 2007.
The supplied line graph displays average carbon dioxide discharges per individual UK, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from 1967 to 2007. Overall, while CO2 emissions in the United Kingdom and Sweden experienced a decline, emissions in Italy and Portugal displayed significant growth. Among the four countries,the United Kingdom consistently had the highest emissions througout the period, while Portugal had the lowest emissions initially however saw the substantial increases over time. In 1967 CO2 emissions in metric tones of the in Italy and Portugal witnessed with a steady annual rise, while United Kingdom initially had was a peak, around 11 CO2 emissions in metric tones throughout the entire period. However, CO2 emissions in Unites Kingdom fell gradually from 1967 to 2007. At this level Swedon soared in 1967 before experiencing with dipped to 2007. Meanwhile CO2 emissions in metric tones of the Italy, Portugal witnessed with upward trend. The amount of CO2 emissions surged between 1967 and 1977 with CO2 emissions approximately 1 and 4 respectively. In 1977, there was a steadily steady increase.

The line graph illustrates the average CO2 emissions per capita in four countries—Britain, Portugal, Italy, and Sweden—between 1967 and 2007. Overall, the UK had the highest CO2 emissions throughout the period, while Portugal had the lowest. In 1967, the United Kingdom and Sweden had the highest levels of CO2 emissions. However, over the 40-year span, emissions decreased for both countries. In the UK, CO2 emissions declined slightly until 1977, followed by a more gradual decrease until 2007. Sweden experienced an increase in emissions, rising from around 8.5 to just over 10 metric tons by 1977, after which emissions dropped sharply, falling to less than 6 metric tons by 2007. In contrast, CO2 emissions in Italy and Portugal increased over the period. Italy saw a sharp rise in emissions between 1967 and 1977, followed by more gradual growth. Portugal’s emissions also surged dramatically until 1997, then continued to rise steadily until 2007. In conclusion, despite increasing awareness of environmental issues, the UK remained the largest CO2 emitter among the four countries in 2007, while Portugal remained the least polluting.
