The pie chart illustrates the principal reasons behind the worldwide land degradation, whilst the table chart represents the main causes which led to the aforementioned issue by region in the 1990s. Overall, over-grazing was the main cause of agricultural land degradation, while European region was the one, mostly affected by this issue. Looking in closer detail at the pie chart, it can be clearly seen that over-grazing is the leading factor of land degradation throughout the world with a frequency of 35%. The deforestation issue comes after representing 30% then the over-cultivation with 28%. However, a minority of other reasons are still responsible for this environmental disease. Moreover, the table chart highlights the fact that Europe is the most devasted land comparing to Oceania and north America with a fraction worth 23% . The major cause is deforestation representing a portion of 9.8%. Oceania follows the word wide trend with over grazing as a first cause of land degradation. Finally, North America is clearly the less polluted region with 5% of land destructed.
