Overall, it can be seen that South Asia had the highest rate of illteracy whereas developed countries has the lowest one. Additionally, the number of illiterary female was always more than that of male in all region during the survey. Regarding 3 regions that had a low percentage of people in illiteracy. In developed countries and Latin American or Caribbean, both the illteracy rate of males and females was similar, about 2% apart. Meanwhile, exactly 20% of illiterate females in East Asia,which doubled that of males. Turning to 3 remaining regions where the rate of illiterate people was high.
