Some people advocate the death penalty for those who committed violent crimes. Others say that capital punishment is unacceptable in contemporary society. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the death penalty and give your opinion.

Part of humanity justifies the death penalty for serial killers, whilst others have the idea that
this
sort of punishment is unacceptable in the modern world.
This
essay will discuss why, from my point of view, the downturns of those penalties outweigh the advantages. On the one hand, there is a widely believed view, that no one can radically change a mature person.
Furthermore
, individuals committing violent crimes are expected to be dangerous to the population for the rest of their lives. A poignant example,
this
is one of the main and crucial reasons why in various states in the US the death penalty is legalised and ubiquitously used by numerous juridical organisations and jury members for judging criminals,
such
as rapists, drug dealers, paedophiles, etc.
Nevertheless
, in my opinion, the disadvantages of the death penalty are more than the advantages, as even the worst possible cases are subject to justification,
due to
the fact that everyone deserves a second chance. Yet, the conventional options of execution are far behind in the past, as society continues to flourish in areas,
such
as psychology and psychotherapy. In my view, they provide us with a deeper comprehension of human nature and mindset.
Moreover
, not only do the technological advancements and immense number of social media houses alongside marketing campaigns on accepting and respecting each other's boundaries apprise the user, but they
also
create a more tolerable and understanding community. Because of
this
, more civilised and less violent punishments are implemented in countries' constitutions and laws. An example could be the availability of life sentences. In light of
this
, the above-mentioned points present the disadvantages of deathly punishments outweighing the advantages as a way of creating a more accepting world.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
