n some countries, students pay their college or university fees, while in some others, the government pay for them. Do you think the advantages that government pays the money outweigh the disadvantages?
It is a debatable issue that who should pay the tertiary
education
fees- students or the government
. It has been observed that in some nations pupil pay their tuition fees, whereas, there are some countries where it is the onus of the government
. This
essay will argue that despite the government
will be overburdened, the benefit of paying fees will give opportunity to a number of students to obtain education
.
Providing fund for higher Suggestion
an education
education
may cause a burden on the government
. This
is because the government
has a lot of public responsibilities in which they are already spending a huge sum of money. For example
, the government
is facilitating public with various facilities, such
as, transport, medical, recreational, which need a huge investment to maintain. If they will start paying tuition fees also
, these sectors might be neglected, due to lack of money resources. However
, this
burden can be reduced by asking citizens of a country to pay more tax that could be used for paying charges to universities.
The advantage linked to this
approach is that it will increase the number of literates in the country. Because students who belong to low class or middle class often are unable to get the tertiary education
due to its high cost. So, If the government
will pay for them, they can also
be educated. For instance
, In India, the literacy rate increased by 20% in Delhi because some public colleges are free for all students. This
opportunity means that it is worthwhile to pay charges for student's university education
.
In conclusion, the opportunity given to pupil to study and increase in literacy level of the country far outweigh the supposed disadvantage of the monetary burden on the government
. It is recommended that more and more countries should implement this
plan.Submitted by kulvinder kaur on
