As countries develop, more and more people buy and use their own cars. Do the advantages of this trend for individuals outweigh the disadvantages for the environment?

Countries that are progressing have a lot of pupils purchasing and utilising their own personal vehicles. The main advantages of
this
are comfort and convenience, whereas the disadvantages are mainly the increase in traffic and pollution. The bigger issue that would arise in countries would be the overcrowding of roads and the worsening of weather conditions over people's comfort. The main advantages whilst travelling that one looks forward to is to travel comfortably and at one's own convenience.
Firstly
, when someone purchases a vehicle, it automatically helps the person traverse with ease to their respective destination comfortably.
Secondly
, once a person buys their own car they need not necessarily travel via public transport in the rush which in turn makes travelling convenient for them.
For example
, taking a sharing cab to the amusement park with 5 other people in it is not very comforting and
similarly
, taking as many breaks one wants to take before reaching a specific destination can only happen when travelling in a personal car. These 2 factors have given rise to the number of automobiles sold globally.
However
, the main disadvantages of
this
are far more alarming
such
as the transit and deterioration. Due to the narrow roads and ever growing number of vehicles, road congestion is surpassing levels of tolerance.
Furthermore
, the levels of harmful emissions are harming the environment on a global level.
For example
, in Mumbai on an average a person takes 3 hours to cover 10 kilometres in peak traffic.
Moreover Delhi
Accept comma addition
Moreover, Delhi
has banned the use of Diesel vehicles because of the pollution in the state.
This
incline in purchase trend across countries has now managed to involve people on a global level. To summarise, while personal convenience is okay, a larger problem of the environment is more concerning. In conclusion, government bodies need to put a cap on to the number of vehicles that can be purchased per household that will help reduce the pollution and traffic in the coming years.
