The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave. However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

Each generation has its own set of values.The values which young people cherish are not necessarily by their parents and grandparents.Even, young people often rebel about the old traditional values. I both agree and disagree with the statement and the following paragraph state the points to support my views. To embark with, according to the older generations it is not a good that girls and boys talk to each other and they cannot become friends.

Furthermore

, if they are going out with each other, it is considered to be bad and parents think that it will ruin their reputation.

Secondly

, there are many families in India who do not allow their daughters to go to school or college because they think that daughters should stay at home and learn cooking and other household chores which will help them after marriage. To illustrate, In a survey done by Hindustan times in 2010 shows that 40-50% women are illiterate in India and were not allowed to go to school or college.

Lastly

, Old people think that it's a good idea to get married in early age so they force young ones to leave their education and get married.

As a result

, young people suffer a lot after marriage and sometimes women become a victim of domestic violence. On the other side, there are some good traditional values which we can learn from our elders

, people have become more selfish nowadays because they are living in nuclear families.

, they can learn values like kindness, compassion and sharing from their elders. To conclude, In my opinion, we can learn so many things from our elders.
