Education is not a luxury, but a basic human right and as such should be free for everyone irrespective of personal wealth. Do you agree or disagree?

Education is a fundamental building block for any nation. The government must ensure every citizen of the country have access to schools and colleges. In my opinion, the authorities can fund the schooling for underprivileged children by different methods, while the rich families can afford the
cost
of their offspring. The poor families may not be able to afford the educational
cost
of their children;
therefore
, governments need to share the responsibility.
For instance
, authorities may provide scholarship programs or they may completely wave off the tuition fees. Similar initiatives have been successfully executed in countries like India.
This
will encourage the economically backward citizens to send their children to school, without worrying about their expenses. Once these children will get educated, they will be able to find good jobs, which will help their families to become independent.
On the other hand
, if authorities fund the education of all their citizens, that will put tremendous pressure on a country's financial budget.
Hence
, governments require higher-income people to afford their educational expenditure themselves.
However
, the administration's responsibility is to ensure that colleges do not charge exorbitant fees from the students.
For instance
, the ministry may decide to place a bracket on university fees, depending on their standard and ranking.
This
way it will benefit both the people as well as the government to share the burden of education. To conclude, needy people cannot pay for tuition fees;
hence
, their education expenses have to be sponsored.
However
, a higher-income citizen can afford the
cost
themselves, yet the governments need to keep the
cost
within limits by maintaining a certain cap on the fees.
