Some people believe that when designing a building, the most important thing to be considered is the function rather than the outward appearance. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

 have different opinions on what are the key aspects that designers should consider when they
design
 a building.
Although
 the decoration of a building surely matters, I believe we still need to focus on the interior functions when we do the initial designing work. The appearance of the building plays a significant role in our society since it is an important part of public arts. As a matter of fact, multiple types of arts can be embedded into buildings when we
design
 them. Architects tend to use certain shapes or outlines of the building to help convey the message they want to deliver. Designers
also
 always employ bright colours to decorate the outer wall of buildings so as to lift
people
's mood and give whoever visits or passes along the building an overall energetic feeling.
On the other hand
, we should still spend the majority of our efforts on the internal function of the building to make sure the ultimate target of the building can be achieved efficiently. Actually, there are various factors in terms of functions
people
 should keep in mind when they
design
 a building.
For example
, if it is a hospital, designers need to focus more on things like how many rooms are dedicated to each functional unit, how big each room is and how to arrange rooms that are used for diagnostic and treatment purposes so that patients will find their experience of seeing a doctor more comfortable and convenient. All these efforts work better than offering an attractive appearance of the building in terms of making sure
people
 receive their services
such
 as prescription, treatment and even food supply with less effort.
Although
people
 will , architects should still put more attention to the function of the building when they
design
 it.
