In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customers travel to large shopping centers or malls to do their shopping. Is this a positive or a negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

In present years , a large number of the local store gets shut down as consumers prefer to pass by big shopping malls and centres for their shopping ,through
this
good for customers but it is, in fact, the unhealthy trend for local communities and I will illustrate about it in
this
essay. The number of mega malls and complexes are on the rise as users trend have been changed a lot in recent times, due to the convenience of getting everything under one roof plus the availability of other amenities like recreation rooms, restaurants and theatre in shopping malls attracts a huge crowd in
such
places
.
such
places
are usually located near the centre of the city or transit facility it becomes easy for each and every person to visit these facilities,on other hand factories establish their outlets in those
places
,
additionally
all the time sales events and to offers keep going on which magnetise shoppers to these
places
.
This
development harshly affects local shopkeepers who run their
business
with limited items and low budget, these owners buy their goods in limited quantity so their costing remains higher so they have a limit in pricing and offers to attract customers, so their
business
goes down day by day and eventually forced to shut their
business
.In
this
way communities losing their own local
business
in favour of those giants which offer nothing to the local community and adds to the unemployment of
such
owners and their employees. For ,example the opening of Reliance mall in Ahmedabad had almost swiped out 40 per cent of shops from Relief Road stores. In ,summary the growing ,mall culture keep feeding giant
business
houses and take away bread from local citizens which of course is a negative development for any community.
