You have discovered a lot of rubbish in a lake near where you live. In the past, the lake had always been clean. Write a letter to the local council. In the letter: describe the type of rubbish that you saw in the lake explain where you think the waste has come from suggest what the council should do about the problem
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing
this
letter to bring to your notice the deteriorating condition of the lake in Sarita Vihar, where I have resided for the last
20 years.
In the recent past, I have realized the lake has become quite dirty but on my last
visit, I saw discarded electronic goods and clothing materials floating all over the water. Additionally
, the water-body was also
polluted with plastic wastes, especially water bottles and household containers.
After close inspection of the area, I think the main source of all the rubbish in water can be attributed to the garbage collected from nearby colonies. As a matter of fact, I have seen garbage trucks regularly visiting the pond area.
The once beautiful pristine lake has turned into a heaven for mosquitoes and diseases and requires immediate action from your side. It is my sincere request that you ask the garbage collection authority to stop any disposal activity in the area and subsequently
take necessary actions for the cleaning of the reservoir.
I look forward to hearing from you with a positive response.
Yours faithfully,
