Some people think that schools should select students according to their academic abilities, while others believe that it is better to have students with different abilities studying together. Discuss both views and state your own opinion.
In recent years the topic of segregating children based on their academic
ability
has been a topic of debate. some are of the opinion that it is more beneficial for students
to be streamed . while others think that they all should be taught in the same class in regard to academic ability
. In this
essay I will be discussing both points of view and why I totally agree with the second
notion.
To begin
with, individuals who are an advocate for streaming base their argument on the fact lectures could be adjusted for higher ability
students

will be able to give more difficult lessons and challenging assignments to their students
. Moreover
, all pupils in the class will be able to learn at the same pace. students

to comperhance and understand lessons varies from one student to another. and this
is considered a major challenge for most teachers
but when we place pupils in classes based on their academic ability
it will be easier for teachers
to see students
' academic weaknesses.
However
, we can not ignore the major disadvantages that come with this
approach. First
and foremost, it promotes inequality, students
with lower abilities will feel inferior to those with higher intelligence which may lead to developing unwanted behaviours such
as hatred and violence between students
. Furthermore
, children with different abilities can study together and learn from each other. For example

who are good in academic subjects but bad in art or music can learn from their peers and vis versa.Therefore

to have both good academic and non-academic abilities. And last
but not least, it will motivate students
to work harder to reach the same level as the gifted students
