As a GIS staff, I am required to do mapping according to the existing needs for the company's needs. The tasks I did were developed manual digitization analysis through Sentinel-2 imagery in Papua Island, analyzed the deforestation rate in Papua Island during 2017-2022 using remote sensing, and wrote about the results of the deforestation rate in Papua Island in 2017-2022. The field I learned is very relate to my daily life as an Applied Meteorology student who always plays with data and mapping. I consider a GIS Specialist to be very familiar with mapping and remote sensing work. I believe that the skills I have can be useful for the organization I am currently in.

We are living in an extremely competitive world. This society is continuously pushing us, making us feel that we must be the best in everything we do, and that we must have a rivalry with our colleagues to be better or to get more recognition than them. However, in the long run, I don’t think this theory has been proven true. In this essay, I would like to argue why I believe that the education approach should be reconsidered in our schools, so kids stop competing between themselves and are shown the importance of cooperation to achieve their goals.
