some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. others say that there are more important environmental problems. discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, our world is facing many environmental
problems
. While some
people
believe that the main problem threatening the environment is the
loss
of some special kinds of animals or plants, others argue that there are more
problems
that
people
should be concerned with. It is indeed true that the number of some particular
species
of animals and plants is decreasing.
This
will definitely have consequences
therefore
, many
people
think it should be considered the main environmental problem of our time. Many of these
species
might be very important for the ecosystem and even humans for many reasons and because of that, their
loss
of them will be irrecoverable.
For example
,
sea
corals are the main habitat for many
sea
species
like fish, crabs, etc. They absorb sunlight and produce oxygen under the
sea
. The
loss
of them would make the place unlivable for other animals and leads to more environmental
problems
.
On the other hand
, some
people
say that there are more important issues. Major
problems
like climate change, global warming, air pollution and destruction of rainforests. The effects of these issues are global since they lead to several minor
problems
.
For instance
, global warming is followed by increased
sea
levels and a rise in their temperature.
This
not only endangers the natural ecosystems of the
sea
but
also
has negative effects on the wildlife on the land.
Therefore
,
this
should be considered one of the main environmental
problems
. In conclusion,
although
the
loss
of particular
species
is an important issue, I believe that there are many other major
problems
that are way more important these days.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
