Many of the products we buy nowadays break or wear out very quickly. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this for manufacturers and the public?

To be more fashionable and trendier, people tend to buy more and more things, without even considering the quality and the need for that thing.
Therefore
, things they buy easily break or wear out.
This
practice is a beneficial thing for
manufacturers
as they make money by selling inferior goods to the public. The only benefit it has to the public is that they get a variety of options at a cheaper rate, but quality-wise, they do not get long-lasting and reliable
products
. When
products
do not
last
long,
manufacturers
get to make more profits because
consumers
have to buy new
products
more frequently. Earlier a phone would
last
5 or 10 years but now the most modern smartphones with high-end features do not
last
more than a couple of years.
Consequently
,
consumers
are forced to replace their existing models with newer ones.
This
benefits the
manufacturers
. The only advantage that
consumers
have is that they get to use newer
products
that often sport more advanced features. On the flip side, non-durable
products
lead to financial loss for
consumers
. Of course, they get affordable
products
, but if they have to change their phone every year, they will lose money in the long term. For
manufacturers
, the main disadvantage is the loss of trust in their brand. If their
products
are not durable, it can affect the reputation of their company. An even bigger disadvantage is that the production of low-quality goods is increasing the amount of garbage we generate. In conclusion, when
products
do not
last
long, companies can make more money as people will have to buy more often.
On the other hand
,
this
practice affects the reputation of the manufacturer and leads to financial loss for the
consumers
.
