Many people around the world use social media everyday to keep in touch with other people and get news events Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
Many
people
have become daily users of social media
in recent years, making social media
quite an essential part of modern lifestyle and they can keep in touch with others and have access to up-to-date daily news. The benefits of this
trend, such
as feeling connected to the world
and making new friends far exceed its drawbacks.
There are a few downsides to using social media
on a daily basis, the most obvious of which is a waste of time
. Since there is a high chance of coming across various distractions in the form of viral videos, pictures or even advertisements, which can grab people
’s attention easily, the users might end up spending too much time
on social media
. The second main disadvantage of using social networking sites this
particular way too much is loneliness. As people
are affected by online interactions more and more day to day life, they are likely to forget the importance of socializing in real life, hence
start feeling as if they are lonely in reality.
Nevertheless
, I am of the view that social media
is one of the most efficient, if not the best, ways to be connected with the world
. Since people
are able to receive news as fast as they want and enjoy all that is
going the world
, they are less likely to feel as if they are falling behind the world
and popular events. Also
, social media
is the best place to meet new people
and keep in touch with loved ones. All users have to do is go online and chat with others, particularly with people
who have the same interests and hobbies so that they can make like-minded people
friends easily. Finally
, the question of time
and money is solved when people
can access social media
in that they do not have to step out of their comfort zone and go to particular places to talk with people
they want.
To conclude
, though social media
can be disadvantageous if people
are not self-controlled enough and spend way too much time
on networking platforms, it offers many benefits people
need.Submitted by tjumagul67 on
