The chart illustrates the preferred destinations for a trip, among Venezuelan students, between 2011 and 2014. The city considered are three: London, Rome and
Paris
, with trends and data for every year.
Firstly
, the most notable feature of the graph is the trend of students going to
Paris
. In fact, in 2011
Paris
was the least attractive of the three cities, with 10.000 tourists, but, from that moment, saw a sharp rise, arriving at 20.000 in 2013,
thus
becoming the most visited city.
However
, between 2013 and 2014, there was a decrease to more or less 17.000 visitors.
On the other hand
, London had a more stable tendency, with a slight increase every year, that become a little steeper after 2013, the same year of the decline of
Paris
numbers.
As a result
, over the years, London passed from 15.000 visitors to almost 20.000, and from the second to the first place of the most visited cities.
Finally
, Rome had the most volatile trend. In fact, in 2011 was the preferred city by Venezuelan students, with more or less 17.000 tourists, but after that period the number of tourists declined until 2012 when they increased again to almost the same number in 2011.
Nonetheless
, there was another decrease from 2013 to 2014, to 15.000 visitors,
hence
making Rome the only centre that saw a decrease in the period. In conclusion, it could be stated that the different cities had different trends during
this
frame of time.
In addition
, it seems that there was some sort of competition between these destinations, with inverse relations in rises and falls among the three capitals.
