The system used for rubbish/garbage collection in your local area is not working properly. This is causing problems for you and your neighbours. Write a letter to the local council. In your letter: – Describe how the rubbish collection system is not working properly – Explain how this is affecting you and your neighbours – Suggest what should be done about the problem

Dear Sir or Madam, I hope
this
letter finds you in radiant health and the best of spirits. I am Laylo and I am a user of your system which is garbage collection.
For
this
reason, I am writing
this
letter to say about a problem which is related to
this
issue. Since the garbage bins are overflowing with litter, it attracts street dogs and the local citizens are worried for their safety.
Moreover
, it makes breeding for mosquitoes and other insects that can lead to the spread of contagious diseases.
In addition
, we can get a bad odour from rubbish bins and it makes it unbearable to breathe. Considering all the above mentioned, as a long-term solution, more garbage bins should be installed considering the population. I hope you will take immediate measures to solve the problems and suggestions will be considered. Yours faithfully, Rustamova Laylo

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
