Many people believe formal pen-and-paper examinations are not the best methods of assessing educational achievement. What is your view of the examination?

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Nowadays, the best way to evaluate
people
's
ability
and skills is by taking exams, which is taken in ‘pen & paper’
exam
in most academic institutes. In
this
regard, some
people
believe that the traditional
method
of ‘pen & paper’ examinations are no longer an effective
method
for educational evaluation, and it is possible to replace it with more academic and precise methods. In
this
essay, we will discuss the examinations and two different ways of taking them.
Firstly
, the most common way to take an
exam
is a ‘paper & pen’ examination. In
this
exam
model, after studying a subject, a
person
must answer a number of questions about that on paper at a certain time. In my opinion, the possibility of error seems to be high in
this
method
, because one can easily cheat in the
exam
or even just memorize and answer without learning
however
doing assignments would be more suitable for evaluating students’ skills and abilities.
In addition
, a lot of paper is used for ‘pen & paper’ exams, which is harmful to the environment. and it
also
takes a lot of time for the examiner to assess all the papers, which seems unnecessary considering the progress of today's world. In the following, another
method
that may be used less to take the
exam
is the oral and practical
exam
. In
this
type of
exam
, a
person
has to show how much
ability
and mastery he has in the subject of the
exam
, that's why the possibility of cheating in
this
type of
exam
is lower and the score that the
person
receives is very close to his level of
ability
in that subject.
However
,
this
model of taking the
exam
requires more attention from the examiner and in some cases costs more because each student is tested separately, and in the practical
exam
more resources should be available to the student so that they can perform their abilities well. in conclusion, it is analyzed that taking an
exam
is the best way to evaluate
people
, but how to take it is very important. In my opinion, taking an oral and practical
exam
, despite its difficulty and cost, can make
people
more capable because It requires more skill and effort,
while
in ‘pen & paper’ exams, it is more likely that the
person
's
ability
is not equal to his score, that's why the quality is better than quantity.
