The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The first line chart compares the proportion of families with three types of electrical appliances from 1920 to 2019, namely washing machines, refrigerators and vacuum cleaners. The second line graph gives information about how much time people spent doing
housework
over
this
100-year period.
It is clear that
constant increases in the ownership of all three appliances can be observed in the years shown,
while
the number of
hours
used per week for
housework
keeps decreasing. In 1920 it was very rare to see a household with a refrigerator in
this
country,
while
40% and 30% of
households
owned a washing machine and a vacuum cleaner respectively. Later on, the percentage of
households
with a refrigerator rose dramatically to 90% in 1960 and reached 100% in 1980. The figure for vacuum cleaners increased slowly but steadily,
also
reaching 100% in 2000. With some fluctuations, over 70% of
households
had a washing machine in 2019. In 1920, the time they spent doing
housework
was an average of 50
hours
a week,
while
this
figure dropped to 20
hours
in 1960. And in 2019,
housework
took
households
a mere 10
hours
.
