Some people belive that universities should only accept students with high marks. Others think that students of all ages and ability levels should be able to attend. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Few of them are of the opinion that
students
with excellent academic grades should be admitted, while
others think that pupils of all age groups with skills
should be accepted in colleges
. The primary reason why some of them think so is most universities
have eligibility criteria and I think students
should be accepted based on their skills
.
Most universities
have eligibility criteria while
accepting students
reason being, they choose students
with good grades as they think that students
will be able to cope with the classes which invariably affects the ranking of these Colleges
. For instance
, Ivy League Colleges
accept only students
with high grades. Getting into Colleges
like Harvard or Yale is very difficult as very few students
meet their requirements.
Similarly
, there are few universities
which accept students
based on their work experience or other skills
as they have more practical knowledge of how to apply their skills
to the practical world. However
, while
this
can be a drawback for most students
I think universities
should be more open to admitting students
with talent and giving them an opportunity to present their skills
. Besides
giving importance to only educational scores, universities
should have an entrance exam for such
students
in order to test their practical knowledge. For example
, some universities
have an entrance exam which gives an opportunity for students
to score well before admitting them. Students
choosing MBBS have to clear the entrance exam.
To conclude
, students
should not be judged based on their academics and rather give them an opportunity to learn. Moreover
, having such
requirements will only demotivate students
who may not have had great scores.Submitted by reddy_sowmya8110 on
