. The reasons why UK residents travelled overseas is for Holiday, which accounted highest in all year period ( from 15,246 to 20, 700, between 1994 to1998). Far behind is for Business purposes ( roughly from 3,155 to 3,957) and a
visit
to friends and relatives ( approximately from 2,689 to 3,181) in the 4-year period. Turning to which location abroad, 19,371 UK residents choose Western Europe as their area of destinations, rising to 24, 519 by 1998.
While
Other areas are their second option to
visit
garnering 1,782 (1994),
this
number rose to almost double in 1998. Meanwhile, North America shows a 100 per cent increase throughout the period.
