For the past year you have been a member of a local club. Now you want to discontinue your membership. Write a letter to the club secretary. In your letter - state what type of membership you have and how you have paid for this - give details of how you have benefited from the club - explain why you want to leave

Dear Mr Smith, I'm sending you regarding the membership in your Fitness Time Gym which is located in Al Salama District. Prior to diving into details, let me please provide you with the lapse. I'm Joseph under registration no Jed56005. The type of participation is Premium, which started on the 25th of
last
June. As it continues up to two years, it's supposed to be finished on the 24th of coming June.
Due to
the 30% discount that was announced these days because of Thanksgiving Day one year ago,
therefore
I took advantage of it and paid two years in advance. Throughout the past year since my subscription has activated, I've benefited from all services of the Gym. I lost some weight and gained a good mass of muscles.
Also
, the SPA and sauna are really amazing and serve appropriately all year.
Not to mention
, the swimming pool and the cleaning restrooms.
In addition
, the 24/7 working period and the small distance from my home, that was pretty advantageous and led to an instrumental experiment for me. A week ago, I had a new employment offer in Riyadh City. it is an astonishing proposal and is considered a stone step in my career. Noticeably I accepted it and expected to move just in the next few days. So I would ask for your association in unsubscribing and if you could refund the rest of the membership fees which I believe it's 9 months.
Nonetheless
, as soon as I settle in my new home, I will rejoin your Gym. I hope you could help me with
this
, and look forward to hearing from you soon. Any assistance will be much appreciated. Yours sincerely, Ali

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
