More and more people are becoming seriously overweight. Some people say that increasing the price of fattening foods will solve this problem. Do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Overweight is a big problem for many countries in the world. Some people believe that a high
price
of fattening foods will be a solution to
this
issue. In my opinion, it won’t work, because it will be hard to make that decision and there are a lot of other reasons why the population is gaining weight. It is not a secret that the cheapest fattening
food
is fast
food
.
This
type of meal contains a lot of fats and too many calories. The fast
food
industry is a huge part of the worldwide economy and the main concept of that type of restaurant is selling a big high-calorie portion for a minimum
price
. Obviously, it would be hard to change that concept and significantly increase prices or close all fast-
food
restaurants. By the way, enhancing sugar consumption is one of the reasons for overweighting and it is impossible to raise the
price
for all foods that contain sugar.
On the other hand
, there are so many reasons why people become overweight. And an unhealthy diet is only one of them. Even if the population rejects fast
food
and sugar they will still stick to bad habits like a sedentary lifestyle and irregular exercise.
For example
, after the COVID pandemic, a lot of people still continue to work from home remotely, they don’t need to commute to their offices and they spend most of their time sitting at computers. I believe that being overweight is a complex problem that needs composite solutions. The increasing
price
of flattering
food
is not one of them. It is hard to implement and that decision will influence the worldwide economy. Following a healthy diet and promoting an active lifestyle can be more effective in fighting obesity.
