Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

There is an opinion that the crucial issue of the current century is the elimination of various types of flora and fauna
while
others hold contradictory opinions and insist on the existence of more vital ecological concerns. From my perspective,
although
there are numerous problems connecting our surroundings, vanishing
species
play a critical role in increasing environmental challenges.
To begin
with, the biodiversity of
species
is an essential part of our ecosystem, as ensures its regular functionality and stability.
Furthermore
, nature contributes humans with necessary resources, which they use in medicine or agriculture,
hence
their extinction may generate difficulties concerning these fields.
Moreover
, humans will face huge problems, if even one type of plant or animal dies out, as it is not a piece of cake to explore solutions to cure different illnesses . To illustrate
this
, research made by Cambridge University shows, that the number of herbs, which are used to heal diseases has increased by 30 per cent in the
last
decade.
On the other hand
, today our planet struggles with issues
such
as air pollution or global warming, which some people consider more critical. More, these issues may have undesirable consequences on our planet and should be tackled, as can impact human beings.
However
, nobody has to forget that these problems are related to the extinction of
species
of flora and fauna, as is in the case of deforestation, which leads to climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. Admittedly,
although
there are a lot of biological challenges, that people should overcome, I think that maintaining different
species
of animals and plants is the more significant, as it will enhance chances of solving the others.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
