task response
Your answer is not complete. You start to give your view, but it stops at “I am not completely”. Finish your opinion clearly and explain how far you agree that laws are needed.
task response
Add two main ideas. For example, laws can make people sort waste, but free bins, clear signs, and public help can also make recycling better.
task response
Give a clear example for each main idea. You could write about fines for people who mix all waste, or free food-waste bins for homes.
coherence and cohesion
Use a clear four-part plan: introduction, first main idea, second main idea, and conclusion. Each part should have one clear job.
coherence and cohesion
Link your ideas with simple words such as “First”, “However”, “For example”, and “In conclusion”.
coherence and cohesion
Make each sentence complete. The last sentence is not finished, so the reader cannot understand your final view.
coherence and cohesion
Check word order and word form. For example, write “waste produced by households” and “make people recycle more of their waste”.
task response
You introduce the main problem of waste and recycling, so your opening is on topic.
task response
You show that you may have a balanced view, because you do not seem to fully agree with laws alone.
coherence and cohesion
Your first lines move from the general waste problem to the idea of government action in a clear order.
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
