The contentious argument that whether organizations can solicit personal information from job seekers in an employment application has sparked a heated debate among many. In this essay, I will illustrate the merits and demerits of such practice by employers and then provide my own opinion. On the one hand, there are benefits to organizations in acquiring information about a prospective employee, including his hobbies, marital status, et cetera. The primary advantage is that the multinational corporations can gauge whether an applicant is a best-fit or not for a vacancy by asking for his or her personal data. For instance, a position that requires travelling frequently to various metropolitan cities in the world will not be a good-fit for married people because of their marital commitment. In addition, an organization can increase its employee retention rate by enquiring about a potential hire’s hobbies and interests. For example, a financial analyst who is fond of latest gadgets would be excited to work for a high tech corporation rather than another applicant who despises an advanced device. On the other hand, there are some cons in employers seeking personal information from job applicants. First of all, an organization may inadvertently drive away the best qualified candidate who has privacy concerns by asking for one’s hobbies, interests, marital status, et cetera. Moreover, some employers may resort to discriminatory practices by selecting potential hires based on their personal preferences. For instance, an interviewer who despises a game of cricket may overlook an applicant whose passion is to play with a bat and ball. Having considered a range of arguments, I firmly believe that the merits of an organization seeking personal information from job candidates outweigh the drawbacks; employers can match applicants to the vacancies and increase employee retention rates.

Getting an occupation that in lines with your passion may be enjoyable. It is because you have a bigger chance to apply your mastery into practice. And there are many people out there who don’t have the same experience as yours in this case. A few people are trying to look for the job, some are waiting to be called for interviewed and others are waiting to get hired. You may also feel lucky since you were getting hired without making a big effort to get selected. You feel that you are a perfect-fit worker that the companies need. And It makes you even happier as you have been dreaming of working in that company for a long. At first, all things seem to run smoothly without defect. And you think it was a good starting point to show your best performance while working. Your expectation about being free to express yourself is becoming a priority to support your position. You believed that always makes you optimistic at the probation time. But, high expectation about those things has ruined your career. You are getting inferior because you are not able to express your ideas, strategy, and implementation in your way. At this time, you are feeling the boundaries are so bold and holding yourself back from things you capable of doing. As you are not a strict person who always depends on a formula to do something, sometimes you feel difficult to follow the standard. I think that as workers, we all need more authority in doing the job. I feel that the workers will have the potential to flourish when they can do things on their version. Some people think this is not the right way to do. It seems like ourself are arrogant and don’t need to listen to senior advice. But, that’s not a point I want to emphasize here. Foremost, autonomy makes your working performance better than when you don’t have it at all. It is because by having such freedom to express the idea, the workers will much confident and optimistic. It also hinders job stress that may make them feel working under pressure. The point here is how making yourself happy while doing your job. Frankly, Nothing will gonna stop your effort to reach the goals as long as you are getting job autonomy in doing whatever you do.
