The popularity of gap year has risen significantly especially during last decade, so is the controversy related to this. As the benefits of taking an year off are hard to quantify, it is considered to be unnecessary but opposers recommend this highly. Both these will be analyzed prior reaching a relevant verdict.
Each year many students graduate from their schools and enrol in university programmes which they find the most intriguing. However, controversial opinions have appeared. On one hand, people argued that a one year gap before starting an undergraduate study is necessary, while the other group suggests otherwise. However, in my opinion, a gap between these two states could be more beneficial.
Each year new students graduate from their schools and decide to further pursue their educations. However, it is evident that choosing from a plethora of programmes offered by universities is of the hardest choices each student has faced. Therefore, some people argue that having a one year gap before entering university, could help them clear their minds and subsequently choose easier. On the other hand, others state that by doing this, they would be left behind from their peers which is a huge disadvantage. Nevertheless, I opine with the former and believe that its benefit outweighs the demerit.
