Task 2: Maintaining public libraries is a waste of money since computer technology can replace their functions. Do you agree or disagree?

Technological advances have paved the way for the development of digital
library
resources.A large number of people argue that it is a waste of money to maintain traditional libraries since the development of advanced technology has enormous benefits. Personally, I don’t agree with
this
idea. Nobody can deny that the digital
library
resources help people a lot in broadening their horizon, for
this
reason, it has a wide range of materials that books refer.
For example
, many kinds of books

have an ebook version for people to easily use it via the internet.
Thus

travelling
to the conventional
library

However
, apart from the enormous benefits, the virtual
library
brings, traditional libraries still plays a vitally important part in our lives.
Although
, digital

its outstanding functions
such
as hosting reading events.
Moreover
, people consider

Additionally
, it is said that, in the traditional
library
, a variety of some rare books, archives or special manuscripts are not likely to be available in digital format with a wide range of precious information are placed there, which would never be seen anywhere else via the internet. In conclusion, it seems to me that
although
the development of technology has paved the way for an online
library
, the traditional one, which is a good choice for studying, has played an important role in daily life.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
