It has been noticed that in many

regions, a majority of people are unaware of their neighbours and the sense of
community
is on the decline. One cause of
this
issue is that people in recent times lead busy lives and have little or no time to interact with
community
members.
This
and other reasons would be discussed in
this
essay including some solutions.
Firstly
, one major reason people live isolated from their neighbours is because of the increase in crime rates nowadays. There are more cases of rape, kidnapping and burgling and unfortunately these are usually within the
community
as evident in a study carried out in

in 2015 which revealed that over sixty five percent of criminal acts in local communities were done by
community
members.
This
because it is difficult to know who to trust, people would rather stay indoors with their family than socialise with
community
members.
Secondly
, most people resident in cities have demanding jobs and are too busy to interact with their neighbours.
This
is due to the fact that many good jobs are in cities and a high number of

Thus, individuals
would rather spend any free time gotten off work at home resting and catching up with their families
instead
of meeting people in their neighbourhood. One effective way
this
problem can be resolved is by organisation of compulsory social activities by communities for their members. By doing so, members would be compelled to come out of their houses and mingle with themselves,
subsequently
strengthening the spirit of
community
.
Furthermore
, people can be encouraged to make conscious efforts to check up on their neighbours occasionally, either weekly or fortnightly,
thus
increasing inter-
community
socialisation. To conclude,
although
the number of people who live independently of their neighbours and members of their
community
is on the rise due to some reasons, these individuals could make conscious efforts to reduce
this
trend and the
community
as well, by organising social events for its members.
