Most successful inventions do not rely on complicated technology. In fact, some of the world’s greatest inventions have been very simple things. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is true that modern devices or gadgets have greatly influenced our everyday lives since the dawn of technological development, with some claiming that
such
successful inventions are not always sophisticated. Personally, I completely agree with
this
viewpoint and I will explain why in
this
essay. Perhaps no one can deny that some of the most useful creations in the world are quite simplistic, especially in the past with the absence of modern technology. Long time ago, many inventors relied heavily on their imagination or creativity to generate simple but remarkable tools or devices by watching the surrounding environment.
Furthermore
, these inventions set a strong foundation for many thousands of modern helpful gadgets later, ranging from the stationery used in the workplace or offices to useful drugs in many medical subjects. One obvious example of
this
is paper which is made by grinding trees into pulp and
then
flattened
this
material to create the final product.
This
simply-made produce appears to be very essential in many parts of our lives where people need to take notes or keep records of anything. Another great unsophisticated invention is the wheel which is applied in diverse aspects of modern life. From my viewpoint, I cannot imagine that an airplane could take off without wheels on the runway or a machine could function properly missing its most important circle-looking items.
By contrast
, I can understand why some might hold the view that the majority of up-to-date creations are always complicated. Those people point to a rich diversity of complex machines or robots that are on a daily basis, improving our quality of life as well as curing us from chronic diseases like hepatitis or asthma.
However
,
such
21st-century devices would never be made without handy uncomplicated inventions from the very beginning. In conclusion, it appears that some of the most considerable inventions that have a great impact on our normal lives are not always complex as we take into consideration simplistic tools
such
as the paper or wheel.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
