Some people argue that capital punishment is good for a country. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Capital punishment has been eradicated from almost every country on the face of the earth
,
Accept space
,
particularly in the developed world.
However
, some people advocate the fact that it's good for the country in terms of keeping
crime
rate low. I personally feel, that
such
capital executions should not be a blanket verdict for all the accused, but should be assessed based on the merit of each case. Capital executions can take different forms, namely hanging to death, killing by electricity, execution and many other primitive methods. Facts prove that
crime
rates tend to be lower in societies where
such
form of legislature is implemented;
for instance
, in countries like Saudi Arabia the rates are as low as 1% of the population.
Additionally
,
this
instills a sense of fear of the law in the citizens and
hence
they are fearful before committing any
crime
.
In contrast
, offences tend to be higher in systems with a more liberal framework like India.
For example
, as you would be aware every 5 seconds a girl gets raped in the country.
However
, before
such
systems are adopted one has to ensure that the law systems are well developed and there are no bureaucratic flaws which could deny justice to the innocent.
Moreover
, the framework should ensure timely Redressal of issues because justice delayed is equivalent to justice denied.
Hence
, I strongly agree that capital punishment can be implemented based on the merit of each individual case. In conclusion, considering the fact of lower
crime
rates and a sense of law
abidement
in the citizens, I am of the view that capital punishment structures are quite effective if used with discretion.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
