In some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

During the
last
 years there has been an increase in the consumption of fast foods in some of the more modernized countries, like the US, Great Britain and even Italy.
This
 has led to a larger number of people suffering from specific health issues caused by
this
 type of diet,
such
 as obesity, cholesterol and heart problems. Imposing a higher tax on these types of food could be one way to address the problem, but could it really improve
this
 situation? Raising the tax percentage on fast foods could help with the economic side: higher prices could fund the health care system and could be used to do more awareness in school and cities.
However
, we need to consider that the majority of people that buys fast foods are part of lower income groups,
such
 as large families and students, and probably can’t afford healthier foods. One of the reasons could be the lower cost of fast food, compared to fruits and vegetables.
