used worldwide changed between 1900 to 2000, while the table shows information about

expenditure by Brazil and Congo in the year 2000. Overall, it is evident that
water
consumption trend to increase all sectors, whereas the agriculture section increased the biggest amount. In the graph, increasing from around 5000 km3 in the year 1900 to almost 10000 km3 in 1950,
water
expenditure in the agriculture section
then
peaked at approximately 3000 km3 in 2000.
On the other hand

used in industrial
use
and domestic
use
sections
also
increased, but consumption was minimal until mid-century. From 1950 onwards, industrial
use
grows moderately just over 1000 km3 at the end of the century, while domestic
use
rose more slowly than industrial
use
to only about 300 km3, both far below the level of consumption by agriculture.

, the table reveals that Brazil, which population was 176 million, used 359 m3
water
for irrigating land (26500 km2).
In contrast
, Congo consumed only 8 m3 of
water
because of lower people (5.2 million) and fewer irrigate land (100 km2).
