Development in technology has brought various environmental problems. Some believe that people need to live simpler lives to solve environmental problems. Others, however, believe technology is the way to solve these problems. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is true that we are living in an era of
technology
and facing numerous environmental issues. While some think that
such
issues will be solved by
technology
itself, I,
however
, agree with those who argue that we have to live simply in order to solve
such
problems. On the one hand, it is thought that issues
such
as global warming, deforestation, droughts and others will be solved by the advancement of
technology
.
For example
, in China, genetically modified food has been created by the Chinese scientist,
such
as tomatoes, rice and other vegetables, for their population to combat environmental problems.
Similarly
, many scientists from all over the world are doing extensive research to send humankind to Mars for the new start which is possible due to the advent of
technology
.
Hence
, it is argued that
technology
is the only way to solving these issues.
On the other hand
, I would argue that living a simpler life will solve
such
difficulties easily and quickly owing to the following ways.
Firstly
, a majority of the population should
use
the car-pooling method in order to control pollution.
Also
, governments have to improve public transport and encourage their citizens to
use
it. Take London as an example, where most British citizens
use
trains and tubes
instead
of cars or bikes as there is a lot of improvement done by the UK authorities.
Finally
, in my opinion, to resolve
such
environmental difficulties we have to
use
solar panel
instead
of fossil fuels. Due to
this
not only will the pollution level reduce but
also
the temperature of the earth will reduce. In conclusion,
although
some varies different opinion to solve the problems of the environment, I will encourage everyone to live a basic life by using public transport and solar system.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
