Could you imagine being so hungry that you can see every single and tiny detail of your bones? What if you didn't have enough energy to talk, or even walk?
This
is not a joke or a silly story, nor a pleasant situation to be in.
Food
is the most basic need for human beings. It provides the body with nutrients, offers livelihoods that lift people out of
poverty
, and brings communities together. But unfortunately, more than 820 million people worldwide go hungry every single day, by forces beyond their immediate control, like disasters, conflicts, and even
poverty
, which considered one of the main causes of
hunger
in the
world
. It includes a lack of
food
, water, proper climate, and soil fertility. And as we all know
Food
is the fuel necessary to get through a normal day. And to get
this
fuel is sometimes hard for poor countries to get since many people believe that tackling the
hunger
it depends only on the
food
aid
while it's not only that, it
also
depends on
education
. And; Indeed, if I want to elicit the core of my presentation, I will persuade you that
education
Is the solution to end
hunger
.
Both
education
and
food
aid
do have an important role to play in alleviating
hunger
throughout the
world
, In and of itself,
is far from the end-all solution. It's not even the
last
step. Of course, it is a step. It's the
first
step. That's because, if a hungry
child
fails to eat today, that hungry
child
dies tonight.
However
, if the hungry
child
eats today,
then
we still have a hungry
child
tomorrow. We cannot end
hunger
without
food
, but
food
alone won't solve the issue. Simply giving
food
to the
solve the
hunger
is the same example of shoving water out of the shrinking
shipwoolly usually horned ruminant mammal related to the goat
.
For instance
, in 2005, an organization made
Food
Program to distribute 4.2 million metric tons of
food
to the
world
's hungry, yet in 2005, 852 million people across the
world
stayed hungry.
Food
aid
can be used to provide short-term assistance after a disaster
such
as an earthquake or flooding.
However
, the problem is more of a short-term measure that works in difficult times, but, if it becomes a long-term measure, it will cause dependency and have a negative impact.
Education
,
by contrast
, is likely to have a more lasting effect.
Education
could be combined with
food
aid
by teaching people how to protect
food
production by planting trees and conserving water.
This
response could lead to greater self-reliance and exports.
The role of
education
is very important it is the gold bullet to tackle
hunger
because by providing
education
to impoverished communities, they can be lifted out of
poverty
and
hence
hunger
and be able to fend for themselves without
aid
. Teaching people, both children and adults, to read and write can give them the power to take control of their own lives, eventually setting up businesses, trading, and perhaps teaching others. And it's not even strange that the traditional saying of Lao Tzu is correct which says: “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”.
Education
doesn't just help fighting
hunger
for the educated person only. Rather, the viral benefits of
education
spread outward to the surrounding community that the educated person is living in, for case in point Nepal's school’s educational program on
food
utilization, which was introduced in 2012 has helped the country in saving billions of tons of raw vegetables yearly and decreasing the likelihood of countrywide starvation.
In conclusion,
food
aid
and
education
have their part to play in dealing with the phenomenon of
hunger
around the
world
, but perhaps as I said, the key to starvation does lie with
education
since it has long-term effect.
And as what UNESCO says
"
Education
is an empowering right and one of the most powerful tools by which economically and socially marginalized children and adults can lift themselves out of
poverty
and participate fully in society."
