The rise convenience food has helped people keep up with the speed of the modern day life style. Do advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, when people are under time pressure, eating pre-prepared meals have become a new trend.
Although
convenience
food
is thought by some to be a perfect option because it saves time and money, I support the idea of experts in nutrition who say that it can be detrimental. Admittedly, there are some basic benefits of consuming fast-
food
.
Firstly
,
this
option is cheaper compared to ordering in a fancy restaurant. Most of the young adults, who live on their own, prefer to make some economies.
Secondly
, the time is a tremendous issue in developed countries where people work long hours.
Consequently
, they grab some snacks for replacing a meal because for them it is impossible to cook.
Moreover
,
this
kind of
food
is quite tasty, since producers add some wonderful flavours in it.
Nevertheless
, despite the advantages above, I believe that eating junk-
food
could bring serious drawbacks for the health of the human body. One serious and dangerous problem is that
this
food
is not healthy.
Furthermore
, it leads to critical diseases
such
as obesity, diabetes, or heart illnesses.
This
because convenient meals have considerable amounts of sugar, fat, and salt. Another obvious issue is that having pre-prepared
food
the organism does not receive enough nutrients. It is well-known that the value of nutrients may be lost during processing and not replaced. All the vitamins and minerals are destroyed, and
this
is a real concern. Taking everything into account, I consider that the disadvantages far outweigh any of the minor positive aspects that fast-
food
can have. If people replace convenient
food
with healthy
food
, they will avoid all the health problems.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
