some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

It has recently been suggested by some people that we are now living in a society which too many choices are given. Personally, I partly agree with
this
idea. I believe that
although
sometimes people may have more options than they actually need, in most instances, the increasing number of options actually benefit people in different fields
such
as transportation and education.
Therefore
, it is unreasonable to state that these choices are being "too much".
Firstly
, in terms of transportation, people nowadays can simply opt for many choices, according to affordability and convenience, due to the inventions of better ways of transportation and the revolution in transport hubs. These new options of travelling means improve the efficiency and quality of our life, and
further
boost the development of many other industries
such
as tourism and international trade.
On the other hand
, the continued development of the Internet
also
gives us more choices in education.
For example
, there is a growing trend on people' willing in taking online courses at the moment,
this
allows people to receive better education which would be deemed as impossible in the past. Both above-mentioned cases show that nowadays people
are offered
Suggestion
offer
more choices that are beneficial to them, with no obvious negative effects can be seen,
therefore
, it is unfair to suggest that we are given too many choices.
However
, sometimes people are facing difficulties making buying decision as they are given too many options.
This
is commonly seen
in particular
in the retail industry.
For example
, if you walk into an offline store like Zara, you will realize that you are basically surrounded by thousands of fashion items to choose from; when you try to search a specific type of product on an online shopping platform
such
as EBay, again, thousands of search results will be presented to you. In these cases, people would have to spend a lot more time and efforts in order to narrow their decision because they are given more choices than they actually need. More choices may
also
lead to negative results
such
as irrational purchasing behaviour and waste of money and time. To conclude,
although
I believe that in some circumstances, people are given too many options, especially when people are purchasing products
such
as clothing, as no obvious negative results can be seen, in most cases, people are just given the right amount of choices to choose from.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
