Space travel has been possible for some time and some people believe that space tourism could be developed in the future . Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Space
tourism which is still in its infancy stage is expected to develop in leaps and bounds and become a multi-billion dollar industry in the not-so-distance future. While I acknowledge that
this
form of tourism has certain positive effects, I would argue that it is an unwelcome development.
To begin
with, proponents of orbital flights say that while travelling to outer
space
,
space
travelers
a person who changes location
travellers
have the opportunity of a lifetime to experience of a zero-gravity environment, admire the vastness of the universe from afar and explore different aspects of life in
space
.
Secondly
,
this
industry can make a significant contribution to the whole society. More employment opportunities, apparently, would be created by reason of the increasing demands of
space
tourism, helping reduce unemployment.
Moreover
, tax revenue from
this
sector means that an enlarged budget can be allocated for other social aspects
such
as public infrastructure and
healthcare
Suggestion
health care
However
, we should not turn a blind eye to its disadvantages. Opponents might point out that journeys into
space
would create more
space
junk in the Earth’s orbit. These discarded parts from orbital launches could pose a serious threat to active satellites which are exorbitantly expensive to make as well as the backbone of worldwide communications. Not to mention that they have the potential for catastrophic disasters which can cost human lives if they hit other spaceships. Another drawback is that
space
travel is not very environmentally friendly. Releasing tons of carbon dioxide in the stratosphere,
space
launches contribute substantially to ozone layer depletion, which exacerbates the existing environmental problems, global warming
for example
. In conclusion, as can be seen from many potentially harmful situations and problems that
space
voyages bring about, I consider it to be a negative trend overall.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
