Some people say that arts subjects such as painting or drawing should not be made compulsory for high school students. To what extent do you agree or disagree ?

It is a universal truth that education has a considerable bearing on people’s personal development. Given the magnitude of schooling, what should or should not be covered in the curriculum is still perennial debate. It is believed that art classes are wholly unwarranted, which, in turn, become optional for high
school
students. While there are certainly valid arguments to the contrary, I personally believe that studying programs should not involve
this subjects
Suggestion
this subject
these subjects
for various reasons. On the one hand, it is justifiable, why many people advocate learning arts subjects at
school
.
To begin
with, it has profound impacts to enhance children’s creativity. Drawing or painting gives wing to their imagination and broaden their horizons through observing and depicting the world around us or creating a brand new palette from radical colours. Another benefit highlighted is that these subjects can offer plenty of relaxation. Being engaged in
such
creative activities helps students to break the monotony of academics and unwind after hard-time studying.
On the other hand
, arts classes are not supposed to be mandatory for high
school
students.
Firstly
, since these subjects require inborn talents, there is no point in imposing them on student without having an aptitude for drawing, painting or singing.
For instance
, the majority of students excel in footballs are not likely to spend quality time for every single art class at schools, which requires sit and draw.
Furthermore
, artistic knowledge is of no use to those who got the obvious non-related career path,
such
as science researcher, lawyer and so on. Had it not been for arts subjects, they would have spent time focusing on their specialized knowledge acquired from other academic subjects. For those children who are actually fond of art-related activities, they can learn it from extracurricular classes outside
school
which is ubiquitous in most of areas worldwide. In conclusion, I do believe that the education curriculum should not consider art as compulsory subjects at schools for aforementioned reasons.
