Topic : Some people think that environmental problems are too big for individuals to solve. Others believe that individuals also can do some things to solve these problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is often argued that environmental problems can be solved by individuals or the government and other organizations.
Although
the government and organizations can do many things to make a change, I strongly assert that individuals have a crucial role to play in
environmenatl
of or relating to the external conditions or surroundings
environmental
protection. On the one hand, there are those who believe that environmental issues are too difficult for individuals to solve.
Firstly
, environmental projects are so exorbitant that only the government and organizations can make a significant contribution to conserving the
environment
.
For example
, the construction of the Yen So sewage treatment plant in Hanoi costs more than 5 million dollars, which is much beyond the financial ability of an average person.
Secondly
, citizens do not have authority to promulgate laws or to penalize those whose actions are harmful to the
environment
, so individuals cannot intervene to avert
environment
degradation.
Thus
,
individuals
Suggestion
individual
individuals'
individual's
efforts in protecting the
environment
are tenuous.
On the other hand
, I side with those who argue that individuals have enormous impacts on saving the
environment
. The reason is because all of us leave a carbon footprint on the
environment
through the vehicles we drive, the food we eat and the way we shop.
Therefore
, a small change in lifestyle can result in enormous impacts on the
environment
. Take commuting to work by public transport as an example. Opting for public transport
instead
of driving on a daily basis helps to reduce a great amount of gas emissions released into the air.
As a result
, air pollution is much easier to be controlled. In conclusion, I contend that individuals can contribute to environmental protection tremendously.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
