We live in an extremely materialistic world today, with almost each one of us running after money.

This

has led a few people to believe that money is more important for increasing joy. Even though I partly accept the importance of wealth as a key to prosperity, but it

true that people can be happy even if they are not rich.

This

essay will elaborate my viewpoint and

outline various contributors towards joy.

Firstly

although

it is a fact that some amount of capital is essential for survival and basic needs, ultimate money does not guarantee ultimate prosperity. To put it differently, the amount of wealth or richness cannot be taken as a measure of delight.

, there are various other things that make us happy, even though we may have forgotten their importance, lately. The

, a sense of purpose is another contributor. People feel pleased when they realize that what they do is helpful to others, like charity, community work or helping others. For reference, social workers may not earn much in kind, but they earn a lot of satisfaction from their work and feel happy. To conclude, whereas a little revenue is indispensable, excess of it does not guarantee pleasure.

to that, factors like love, friendship and a sense of purpose are the keys to delight and we need to focus on them.
