Some people are of the opinion that there should be a car-free day once every month, on which no private vehicles are allowed on the road. Discuss the advantages and possible disadvantages.

Many people think that there needs to be a
day
in every month where personal cars are restricted to the roads, and only public
transport
should be used on that
day
.
Firstly
, I will discuss the advantages of having
such
a
day
, and
secondly
I will explain the disadvantages. The restriction of private vehicles on a particular
day
, would reduce the carbon dioxide emission which ultimately will help in saving our environment. The fuel consumed by vehicles leads to CO2 emissions, which leads to increase in pollution, and prohibiting private vehicles would result in reducing the amount of pollution.
For example
, it has been observed that due to current COVID lockdowns, a significant reduction in pollution has been seen.
In addition
, less traffic on the roads would lead to lesser time required for commuting from one place to another. Countries all over the world are facing heavy traffics due to a significant increase in the number of vehicles, and limiting private vehicles would help in solving the issue. Limiting the private vehicles on the roads would result in all people moving to public
transport
for their daily
transport which
Accept comma addition
transport, which
would result in all the bus/metro stations being heavily crowded and may result in blockage of the
transport
leading to huge delays in reaching the destination.
Furthermore
, the public
transport
usually does not cover all the routes from residential areas to the offices, and most of the people living around the city corner would find it difficult to reach to their work. To conclude, limiting the use of private vehicles on a specific
day
, will bring advantages
such
as clean environment and lesser time to commute.
However
, it
also
has some disadvantages leading to bus stations being heavily crowded, and will
also
let people finding it difficult to find the public
transport
near to their homes.
