As earth runs out of natural resources, we have started to look to space for solutions. However, some people argue that this is the wrong thing to do, and instead we should look for alternative solutions here on earth. To what extent do you agree with them? What alternatives might there be to exploiting space for natural resources

The speed at which natural resources on Earth have been getting depleted is alarming. Whilst it is believed by some that seeking an alternative solution in
space
is the best option, I concur with the notion that humans have to confine
this
quest to our planet only, for the former idea is not sustainable or cost-effective. What would be more appropriate in
this
situation is resorting to renewable
energy
.
To begin
with, I am strongly convinced that invoking
space
as a means of combating
this
issue constitutes an adverse concept. Primarily, taking into consideration the extent to which Earth is already polluted, exploiting territory, which possesses asteroids with their own kind of fossil fuels, can amplify the dangerous tendency, thereby entailing even more dangerous repercussions associated with contamination of the planet.
Additionally
, not only can it accelerate pollution, but it
also
implies enormous investments into the development of the idea.To illustrate, the funds allocated for the asteroid-mining venture of 1996 are estimated at approximately $ 100 billion. Having said that, there is a qualitative alternative to
space
the territory as a way of dealing with the problem of natural resources ' depletion, namely renewable intensity. Already accounting for 10% of the whole
energy
enforced, it is produced from the sources which cannot run out, since they are capable of replenishing themselves.
This
is to say, that
such
reliable substitutes like solar, geothermal, hydroelectric energies will decrease the pollution, not even requiring large allocation of money for operating, on account of their natural generation. According to recent research, provided renewable electricity comprises 80% of the total sources for
energy
production used, by 2050, carbon emissions will be reduced by 80%. To conclude, the aforementioned points to draw me to the inference that using
space
Suggestion
the space
in order to rectify the problem is disadvantageous due to the high costs it demands and detrimental effects on nature it can bring about.
However
, renewable
energy
can be implemented
instead
, since it guarantees environmental friendliness
in addition
to effectiveness.
